Our funeral home in Sherwood has the highest standards of funeral facilities available for you to use. We also have a large room which can host up to 50 guests, and catering can be provided if you require it.

When someone dies, the first steps will depend on how and where the person passed away. Our step-by-step guides will walk you through the practical steps. For additional support and personal advice, please get in touch with us.
You don't have to make an appointment at our funeral homes. However, doing so will ensure that someone can be available to cater to your needs. When arranging a funeral, our Funeral Directors are happy to visit you in your own home, if required.
Third party funeral costs are additional charges which we will manage for you and attach to your single invoice. Get in touch with us to confirm costs and plan a funeral to fit your budget.
If you choose to arrange the funeral with us, you will be given the option of a complimentary Funeral Notice. We will set it up for you using the details discussed during the arrangements. All we need is an email address.
Dignity Funeral Plans let you pay for your funeral in advance and at today's price. It's a way of taking control of the unexpected, setting out the arrangements and limiting the costs by paying for the services included in the funeral plan upfront.
From 9 September 2024, there will no longer be a doctor's fee in England and Wales when arranging a funeral. This is because from this date, all deaths in England and Wales will be independently viewed, either by a relevant coroner or by a Medical Examiner and the cost will be met by the NHS.
A Medical Examiner is a specifically trained independent senior doctor who will scrutinise all deaths across a local area that do not fall under the coroner's jurisdiction. By providing a greater level of scrutiny over the cause of deaths; it is hoped that the introduction of Medical Examiners will make it less likely that unnatural causes of death will go unnoticed; that the number of deaths unnecessarily referred to the coroner will be reduced and that national data about causes of death will be captured with greater accuracy.
Medical Examiners, or Medical Examiner Officers, will also be available to meet with families, or their representatives, if they wish to discuss the cause of death.

The whole process of arranging and organising my Mother's funeral service, even moving a prepaid plan from another funeral directors elsewhere in the country, was made very easy with Samantha and then Francis. They both dealt with the process very professionally and with sympathy, kindness and compassion. We will certainly be looking to arrange our own funeral plans with Baguley Bros at some point in the not too distant future!

I honestly cannot praise Baguley Brothers Funeral Directors highly enough.
From start to finish, they treated us with such kindness, compassion and genuine care at what was an incredibly difficult time for our family. From the initial stages, right through to mum’s funeral service, we felt completely supported and reassured every step of the way.
Nothing ever felt rushed or impersonal. We were always given time to talk, ask questions and make decisions, and everything was handled with such sensitivity, dignity and respect.
I would especially like to mention Lucy, Dawn and Samantha, who were all absolutely wonderful. They were so kind, warm and personable, and always seemed to have time for us. Sometimes it was the smallest things — a kind word, a reassuring conversation or simply taking the time to listen — that made such a difference during such an emotional time.
The care they showed Mum, and the care they showed us as a family, meant more than I can properly put into words.
The funeral itself was beautiful and everything was handled perfectly. Knowing that Mum was in such caring and respectful hands throughout gave us enormous comfort.
Thank you to everyone at Baguley Brothers for helping us give my mum the beautiful and dignified farewell she deserved. We will always be incredibly grateful for the compassion and kindness you showed us. ❤️

Baguley Brothers arranged my Dad's funeral from start to finish with excellent care and a personal touch .Sam who arranged all the details was warm and professional with a human touch. On the day Francis was polite and respectful, he explained everything clearly and with great respect. In a difficult time Baguley Brothers made it easier to face the day .
